My Story
I was born in Galway and raised in some of the rural towns throughout Ireland - Clifden in Connemara, New Ross, Co. Wexford and spent my teenage years in Graiguenamanagh (Valley of the Monks) Co.Kilkenny. I always had a keen interest in drawing and painting and considered attending Art College, but my curiosity persisted, and I realized my longing to travel and explore. I participated in a Young Worker Cultural Exchange Program in Paris, living in a french chateau, schooling in french and working in a Parisienne office. At the end of this assignment, I had caught the travel bug and set off on a hitch-hiking adventure around Europe with a friend for a few months, followed by working in London and then embarked on a part round the world trip to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Thailand and working and backpacking my way around Australia. All this traveling and experiencing the different cultures of each country was so enriching and freeing and eventually satisfied my wanderlust.
My final journey was to the U.S. and I settled in Florida and have lived in the Palm Beach area, currently in Boynton Beach. I rediscovered my love for art when attending art classes at Talin's Tropical Studio in Delray Beach and have been painting ever since.
I feel at home painting and would be happy painting the days away, in touch with nature. I have always had a love for animals and through my paintings, I aim to bring awareness to the need to preserve nature, protect the threatened and endangered species and the preserving one of our more renowned natural wonders here in Florida - The Everglades. Color, flow and movement are what I'm drawn to and I try to capture that in my paintings - some are very peaceful, some a little bold, some a little quirky and some are just pure beauty. I look forward to my future artistic endeavors and continuing to learn new techniques and experiment, hoping to become a better Artist.
